wTVision develops real-time on-air graphics for the 2009 General Elections in Portugal!

wTVision supported once again the major TV Channels in Portugal during the 2009 General Elections! Working in close partnership with TVI, RTP (RTP1, RTP Açores, RTP Madeira) and Porto Canal, wTVision developed creative graphics and participated in the special election programs that covered the Portuguese General Elections, which took place last Sunday, September 27.

Interactivity and innovation was the motto of the 2009 General Elections, including the dynamic presentation of a large variety of real-time on-air graphics, provisional projections, numbers of elected members of the parliament and final results!

wTVision handled the import and management of elections’ results, which were received from the official provider (Direcção-Geral da Administração Interna (DGAI), and transformed them into on-air graphics, which were then presented in different formats to viewers - everything in real-time!     
 
RTP challenged wTVision to develop an interactive simulator for its special electoral program. The simulator allowed the presenter to access a large variety of electoral content provided by wTVision’s technology and present electoral results on a large touch screen and showing comparative analysis with historical data of previous elections. Using wTVision’s technology, a second interactive touch-screen allowed the management of the live connection to RTP’s reporters on different locations outside the studio.

Another important innovation was the use of an interactive parliament majority simulator, with the goal of analysing and presenting different scenarios of possible governments and party-coalitions!

The service provided to Porto Canal allowed the presentation of different types of attractive graphics in 3D!

TVI, on the other hand, decided to implement an innovative and impressive model, developing in partnership with wTVision four different creative graphic projects!
Using a plasma Wall, electoral projections, final results, coloured maps and a reproduction of the Parliament with the elected members were presented by reporters to viewers and invited commentators, allowing a very dynamic political analysis and interpretations of results.

Another innovation concerning the creation of impactful graphics was the development of a 3D virtual simulator of the Parliament to introduce projections and results of elected parliamentarians.

Using a playlist managed dynamically, the solution developed by wTVision allowed TVI also to present electoral results in the form of tickers and leads.
