wTVision presents a brand new version of its On-Air Graphics Application Engine

Slides CG™ is wTVision’s application framework that powers all of wTVision’s on-air graphics solutions, namely SportStats CG Suite, Channel Maker, CG Builder, Elections CG, Meteo CG, Promos CG, News CG and News Ticker CG.
Slides CG based applications introduce the concept of On-Air graphics projects. This allows a single application, like CG Builder to solve an infinite number of on-air graphics problems. A project equates in TV terms to a TV program or show. This architecture is extensible using a plug-in system which offers more flexibility to final project and provides an extensive array of functionalities to new projects with no effort.
The new version of the framework - Slides CG V3, offers a number of additional features, giving more power to the Script Developer. It represents a significant improvement over the previous engine, as it has been rewritten from the ground-up on top of the Microsoft .NET Framework.
Slides CG V3 employs a much faster and powerful scripting Language (Python), and allows access to the whole Slides CG framework from the scripting environment. By switching from VBScript to Python, this version allows the project’s scripter to freely access thousands of open source libraries, greatly increasing productivity.
The Slides CG framework interfaces with partner hardware vendors such as Orad, VizRT, Harris, Pinnacle and Others to expose these platform’s functionalities to the framework. As a consequence, producing an On-Air project is an extremely productive experience regardless of the underlying On-Air graphics hardware being used, at the same time offering a common and consistent user experience to the operator and project scripter.
The Slides CG framework is fully configurable with over 90 different plug-ins that interface with real-world devices such as timers, scoreboards, GPS positioning systems, SMS gateways, databases, excel worksheets, etc. This architecture offers more and additional options to the final solution and new functionalities to customer’s project.
This framework allows for the management and broadcast of different solutions such as Live Sports, Weather, TV Promos automation systems, Stocks, News Tickers, Game Shows, Elections, among others.
