Pope Francis’ visit to Portugal marked the debut of a new cable channel: ChannelMaker is TV Fátima’s playout solution since day one, being a crucial part speeding up the deployment of this new TV channel.

Pope Francis’ visit to Portugal, in May, marked the debut of a new Portuguese cable channel: TV Fátima went live on May 12. Using ChannelMaker as its playout solution since day one was crucial to speed up the deployment of this new TV channel. It was an extremely fast deployment: in only three weeks everything was ready to go on air.

This religious TV channel produces live content through online streams received by ChannelMaker, then broadcasted, showcasing the possibilities of customization within wTVision’s software. One operator per shift controls the 24h broadcast in a completely automated environment, where the only worry is making sure everything is running smoothly and no transitioning problems  between shows arise.

The playout automation workflow includes wTVision’s video server and a mixing console used as video matrix and multi-viewer. TV Fátima is currently available online and through NOS and MEO, two of the main Portuguese cable providers.
