wTVision integrated and operated virtual broadcast graphics for three different athletics events during the European Athletics Team Championships in Lille; the project was developed for Atos, a global leader in digital transformation.

During a three-day event in Villeneuve-d’Ascq, France, athletes from the 11 best European nations in athletics compete against each other in the European Athletics Team Championships. Between the 24th and the 25th of June, wTVision operated virtual graphics during the long jump, triple jump and discus, javelin and hammer throw competitions. wTVision worked in partnership with Atos, the global leader in digital transformation in charge of the overall project.

wTVision implemented the virtual graphics system through a camera with an image sensor. The system was then integrated with the competition’s official statistics and operated throughout the event showing distances, results and previous marks.

The European Athletics Team Championship takes place in uneven years and this edition brought some of the best athletes of Belarus, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, and Ukraine to the Stadium Lille-Métropole. The German team took the trophy home while Poland finished second and France, competing at home, finished third.
