The renewed tournament was held in Madrid and wTVision provided a complete broadcast graphics service, including design, AR, implementation and data integration.

The 2019 Davis Cup was a special edition and represented a clear change for the most famous tennis national teams competition. A renewed tournament (with a new format) demanded a flexible experienced team and wTVision lived up to the challenge.

At this year’s finals, in Madrid, a total of eighteen nations (divided in 6 groups of 3 teams each) competed for the title in 3 different courts, and wTVision provided the complete TV graphics package for all matches.

Our broadcast design team created a consistent concept for both on-air graphics and augmented reality. Having in mind the competition’s identity, our creative team delivered a simple, easily adaptable graphic package for AR, scorebugs, tables and results. The same team implemented all the broadcast graphics.

All information were generated thanks to wTVision’s TennisStats CG, a dedicated software to collect and provide live statistics and generate real-time graphics. Each court was equipped with one system, so that all matches could get the proper coverage. In parallel, TennisStats CG inserted the official statistics into EVS’ IP director,  allowing the editors to quickly generate highlights with the help of the metadata.

Handling operations on site were eleven wTVision’s specialists, making sure the right information was aired at the right time during the entire competition. The same team was also responsible for controlling the augmented reality graphics at the main court.

This comprehensive project demonstrated wTVision’s complete capabilities when it comes to development and delivery of a graphic concept: from design and creativity to implementation and live operations.
