Working for Bright House Networks (BHN), on August 26th wTVision has offered a complete data and graphics coverage for BHN 24-hour local news channels, News 13 serving the Orlando area, Bay News 9 serving the Tampa Bay area and InfoMás, a regional 24 hour Spanish news channel.

The results of the races were imported, in real-time, from Associated Press (AP) and there were also a place to input data manually, acting for redundancy and other races results not made available by AP.

Elections CG was in all the three channels, managing the data, in real-time. The output of the latest information available was made in four ways: full screen graphics, full screen graphics for touch screens, used by the studio presenter for full control over the election content and an horizontal ticker.

wTVision Elections CG also fed BHN website with the latest results.

Due to the multi language requirement (English and Spanish), Elections CG, using wTVision Dictionary plugin, guaranteed automatic translation of all content.

On these election projects, Elections CG was on top of the Vizrt workflow integrated with Dalet newsroom system that allowed journalists to monitor live data and build a playlist of election graphics and content.

At the end of this first coverage, Steve Weitekamp, Director of Engineering & Operations commented: “Election coverage is one of our top priorities at News 13, Bay News 9 and InfoMás. We strive to provide compelling content on multiple platforms exclusive to Bright House Networks customers. wTVision’s creativity, experience and extensive portfolio of international clients made them the obvious choice for election graphics support. From the first planning meeting, it was clear the wTVision team understood our vision and offered complete solutions for automated data driven touchscreen, web, full screen and ticker applications. We couldn’t have asked for better on-site support during data testing and graphics modification phases of the project. On election night the wTVision graphics performed flawlessly throughout the evening. The touchscreen graphics were a huge hit with both the on-air talent and the viewers. Thanks to the hard work of our news teams and the wTVision graphics package, News 13, Bay News 9 and InfoMás were the only channels for comprehensive election coverage, far exceeding anything the competition had to offer”.
