wTVision developed 4 graphics projects for the Spanish General Elections that took place in November 20. TV Galicia, Aragón TV, La Sexta and 8TV presented personalized programs to their viewers. The technologies used included full screen graphics, tickers, virtual sets and augmented reality.
TV Galicia project was based in augmented reality that, together with full-screen graphics and ticker, allowed the electoral results to be portrayed in several formats. The graphics showed through augmented reality were created using one ORAD platform for this effect.
Aragón TV chose a virtual set for its electoral night, full-screen graphics and tickers. For this, wTVision integrated technology from Brainstorm to display the virtual scenery, VIZRT for the full-screen graphics and INCA to play the ticker. wTVision also provided graphics design services.
La Sexta and 8TV used a complete graphics solution, presenting information, such as the elected members and the percentage obtained by each party, giving the public vast information about the electoral results. These projects were developed using an ORAD platform.
In the end, Antonio Ferreras, La Sexta director, commented: “This is how we like to work, following the continual data stream and warming up the political scenario”. César González, Information and Sports Director at La Sexta, also stated: “I don’t know how wTVision accomplishes this, but our data appeared faster than the official results displayed in the electoral commission’s website! We’re very happy with the results!”
A new feature introduced in these projects was the installation of a central data processing facility, in wTVision’s headquarters, that assured the system reliability and assured a flawless transmission.
All the projects had the wTVision’s Elections CG product as the software platform, a highly customizable program that handles all the prime functions required by a special electoral TV program.
