wTVision provided broadcast services for 6 TV channels in 4 countries during the European Elections held in May. VRT, Antenna 1, RTP, TVI, Canal Sur TV and 8TV were the clients who choose wTVision as their main partner during the election night.
The software Elections CG was at the core of all projects, assuring the integration between data and graphics. The projects included features such as augmented reality, virtual graphics, integration of official data into wTVision’s software, iPads, LED walls and touch screens. More than 40 members of the wTVision’s staff were involved in the elections.
Antenna 1 presented augmented reality and a ticker with information updated in real-time to present the results. The Greeks elected not only their European representatives but also their local ones, adding to the project’s complexity.
The Belgian channel VRT presented wTVision with an even greater challenge, combining 3 suffrages in a single project: European, national and regional. The project included augmented reality delivered through a crane camera mounted in a dolly, which granted full mobility to the shots. This solution had 3 layers of graphics appearing simultaneously.
Flávio Maurício, wTVision’s Project Management Director, commented about this challenge: “Coordinating every effort, with teams spread all over Europe, was a major hardship, but one we surpassed successfully.”
Jose Alberto Carvalho, Head of News in TVI, stated: “I’ve been working with wTVision for more than a decade and we’ve always needed a robust, efficient and reliable integration between live streaming data and our broadcast graphics during election nights. The outcome has been, once again, absolutely astonishing. wTVision’s efforts are always amazing, as well as the results!”
wTVision provided graphics services for more than 90 electoral projects in 10 countries.
